Press Conference On Climate Change
As per plan of New Life Foundation under the project “Peoples response to climate change and capacity building on patriarchal structure and criminal justice system in North-East India” two numbers of press conferences on climate change were carried out duringthe project cycle 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2018. i.e. on 27th May 2017 at Sunusiphai. The very objective of this conference was
- To protect and promote indigenous resources and products for economic sustainability.
- To promote alternative means of cropping according to climate change.
- Promote, preserve and protect the indigenous seeds and develop seed bank
- Implement the State Action Plan on climate change on community and local base for sustainable and healthy environment
The panelist of the conference were representatives from various organizations such as ThanjamKavita Devi, Secy. Ideal Mothers’ Association Sunusiphai; SoraisamBidyaleima Devi President Ideal Mothers’ Association Sunusiphai; LaishramShyamkumar Singh President, Farmers’ Club Sunusiphai; WarepamManisana Singh Secy, Farmers’ Club Sunusiphai; ThangjamJiten Singh, sympathizer Farmers’ Club Sunusiphai; and LamabamPishak Singh, Secy. New Life Foundation.
And on 27th 9 2017 at Hotel Lake View with the objective of the conference was to highlight the basic important issues of the community such as violations of right to life, water, land and resources etc. and call the attention of the government to take steps for remedy and prevention of any other grievances.
